Innocent

The Innocent archetype represents a person who is idealistic and ready and willing to learn what it will take to make the world a better place. Bright, pleasant, and sometimes inspiring, the only real weakness of such a person is her-or-his lack of knowledge about the situation she-or-he is in. An eager, new coworker will often be found invoking this archetype… still learning the job, but catching on fast and fun to be around because she-or-he reminds us of everything we actually like about our jobs.

The thing to be aware of with this archetype is that it is short-lived, or, at least, it should be. If it isn’t, it is usually because the person invoking the Innocent resists growth, perhaps in denial about a disturbing truth she-or-he must accept before more growth can occur.

If you are dissatisfied with the dominance of this archetype in your life, it may mean that your growth has stagnated and you’re realizing it’s time to accept new responsibilities and/or take some risks.
