Daughter

For good or ill, gender archetypes exist in all of us and they are stereotypically drawn. Thankfully, though, our modern world might be comfortable with a man invoking a female archetype and a woman invoking a male archetype, so that is some progress at least.

As the generic female archetype, the Daughter is thoughtful, reserved (but not withholding artistic expression), cooperative (but NOT compromising), cautious, forgiving, accepting, wise, and stubbornly committed to just causes.

Of course, other archetypes may exhibit these characteristics as well, but in contrast to them the Daughter often lacks a conceptual framework wherein her sense of justice can safely be nested. Without such a framework, the Daughter can often find herself passionately supporting contradictory objectives, or pouring enormous resources into low-payoff objectives while more critical objectives are ignored.

If you are dissatisfied with the dominance of this archetype in your life, perhaps it is time to reflect on your purpose in life and prioritize your values in accordance with the principles that are of greatest importance to you. Assuming more assertive roles in your life might assist you in gaining a better appreciation for how principles ultimately translate into practical results.
