Idiot

This archetype represents the person who is "just along for the ride". Such a person often unintentionally (but agreeably) entertains others around him-or-her by exposing the simple truths beneath complex situations. In a circle of friends, this person is often the comic relief, the one that nobody takes particularly seriously even though they are happy she-or-he is around.

Of course, playing the fool all the time can get very tiresome and often those who invoke the Idiot too frequently find themselves struggling with deep issues all by themselves. All the world loves a clown, but not so much an angst-ridden one. It can be a rude awakening for the Idiot when friends abandon her-or –him right when friends are needed most.

If you are dissatisfied with the dominance of this archetype in your life, perhaps it is time to reflect on your purpose in life and decide what kind of active contribution you’d like to make to the world. You need not sacrifice your good nature and simple approach to living, but your choices can be more principled and your actions more deliberate (and you can garner more respect from others) while you still "go with the flow".
