Nested Social Relationships

Another subject that I believe is worthy of research is what I call “nested relationships”.  Couch’s work addresses exchange relationships, for example, but what about exchange relationships that emerge between two people who already engage in an “overall” solidary relationship? Surely that exchange will be qualitatively different when compared to an exchange that takes place within, say, an authority relationship.  What are those differences, specifically?
