Patron
This archetype represents the person who easily and ostensibly shares with others from a considerable store of resources. This may be a wealthy person donating money to a university or museum, but it might also be an office worker who "knows everything" and generously assists others and answers questions whenever called upon. This "important source of resources" role is central to the Patron’s life.
The downside to this archetype is that the person invoking it often bases her-or-his self-esteem upon how "needed" she-or-he is. This can lead one to actually becoming less giving for periods of time in order to preserve, enhance, or increase her-or-her feeling of importance.
If you are dissatisfied with the dominance of this archetype in your life, perhaps it is time for you to consider the many other things about you that make you a valuable human being besides the resources you can share with others. It might also be time to give up being the gatekeeper for certain resources, finding ways to help others step up to the task of sharing what they have with the world. It might help if you place yourself in situations where you are the one who lacks resources, rubbing elbows with the rank-and-file who often must be willing to accept help as well as give it.
