Aaron: Serpent of Evil or Serpent of Wisdom

It’s been mentioned on the show that Claire was interested in astrology and horoscopes. She is quoted as saying “You know, everyone thinks astrology’s just a load of crap but that’s just because they don’t get it.” Locke remarks to Claire that it’s a good sign that her baby’s birthday is close to her own birthday.

This theory is elucidating the possibility that perhaps Claire and Aaron’s charts have something important to do with the show. As best I can, I’ve done their charts - and it’s interesting to see some of the coincidences and connections.

Aaron and Claire are both Scorpios. Scorpio is the most powerful sign in the zodiac. Both Aaron and Claire’s charts indicate that strong family ties seem to be key in the positive intertwing of their two fates.

During Locke’s vision, Locke points at them and Boone tells Locke - Charlie, Claire and Aaron are “fine, for awhile”, and appear to be a family in the vision. (“Further Instructions”) Claire’s chart seems to point to the fact that losing Charlie would be a detriment to her finding her own way.

The psychic she visited insisted that Claire had to raise the child herself as “danger surrounded this baby!” Her chart shows she has psychic and healing tendencies. Aaron’s chart shows that he needs his mother’s support early on in his childhood. Aaron needs his mother’s ability to be objective in order to soothe his fearful tendencies, and also her inspiration and nurturing.

Charlie also warns Claire that the baby was in danger, but that the danger is connection to religion somehow. Mr. Eko points out the religious significance of the name Aaron when he informed Claire that Aaron was the name of Moses’ elder brother. Charlie’s vision where he determines Aaron should be baptized is shown in iconic Christian symbology.

In fact Claire’s chart indicates a paranormal collision of science and religion. Aaron’s chart, indeed shows that he is to be an inspiration - and the “Golden Mean”. Realization of his true nature will herald a great transformation - the merging of science and religion. Somehow this purpose will be intrinsically tied to ancient civilizations. It will be done through the liberation of a great many people from their fears.

Traits ascribed to those whose Sun in Scorpio - They are lost for direction - to overcome this they must make their ultimate adventure getting lost in order to discover where, who and what they are. Beware though - that his emotional attunement determined by this sign can be negatively shown in manipulation should things go awry. His intense need for a secure home and family can lead to agoraphobia. Conjunct - or working with this planet to make a stronger emphasis on this trait is the planet of Saturn, which is also in Cancer.

Mercury in Scorpio:  Conjunct with the Sun, and with the strength of the sign of Scorpio - deems this alignment as “X-Ray Eyes” indicating his ability to “see through” people and situations. It is indicative of a real mental power and superiority. What he wants and what he fears are heavily entwined. His paranoia makes him suspect malice of intent. Mercury works in conjunct with the Sun to strengthen these traits.

Venus in Libra: This planet is in dignity as well, and so these traits easily expressed. He is the “Social Touchstone”… indicating that he is in touch with what mythology calls the “Golden Mean” or perfect balance. Others will measure themselves against him. Mars in Libra:  Though this planet is part of his means to overcome the lack of fire in his elements, it is in detriment, meaning these traits are at conflict with one another and will thus be difficult to express or overcome. Key is to balance his impulses. He will struggle with his need for independence and his social conscious. Anger and resentment can build out of this conflict if a balance is not struck. This will be pronounced in his character and in conjunction with the traits of Venus and Jupiter.

Jupiter in Libra:  Is the alignment of “The Peacemaker”. Ethical and religious influences in his life will have direct bearing on the success of his personal relationships. He will need to balance his needs and desires with his beliefs in values. An imbalance will be so strong as to bring an upheaval extreme enough to involve litigation. This will be pronounced in his character and in conjunction with the traits of Mars and Venus.

Saturn in Cancer:  He will be tested in nurturing to the tune of the motto “I Rise Above Myself”. This planet is also in detriment. His purpose on earth is tied to a strong paternal or maternal support early in life. Without it, it will lead to the withdrawal of his feelings. His emotional values give him a sense of belonging. He needs to express his nurturing side. He will either be sincere and selfless, or paranoid and emotionally crippled. This alignment works in conjunction and is strengthened by the traits under the Moon.

Neptune in Aquarius:  Unifying through Liberating. Those who see light will be because they prepared for it, those who don’t prepare, will not see it. Aaron must obtain a critical mass of individuals that reach liberation from fear in order to turn the tides.

Pluto in Sagittarius:  Empowering through seeking. We will discover what is determining our destiny. Realization of Aaron’s true nature will bring about the coming together of all valid religions. It indicates transformation - and the combination of science and mysticism. What was once seen only as mystical will be linked to scientific fact. This all will be tied significantly to ancient civilizations.

Claire Born 27 Oct 1982 in Sydney Looking at her Moon sign and comparing personality traits I estimated she was born after 7:12pm in order to find her ascendant planet and obtain further information.

Sun in Scorpio:  Living through desiring, or the “urge to merge”. The house of this planet indicates that she will manifest this through children or romance. She thrives in crisis… though she is independent she can be self sacrificing; she is strong and deep. She is frank and open, but can be harsh. She sometimes will miss the point and become frustrated by her own inappropriate convictions. She needs a large ideal to suit her power, be it artistic or religious - (her son’s purpose on earth appears large enough to me). She is lost in her direction as well and can bite off more than she can chew. This will be pronounced in her character and works in conjunct with the traits of Venus and Jupiter.

Elements: Balanced in Fire Though action is a way of achieving goals, it is hard to take initiative. She is direct and can use her fire to inspire Aaron and support him in a way that he needs due to the lack of this element in his own chart.

Balanced in Air Complementing Fire, is that she is a good communicator and can fit into many walks of life. She is impartial and has an objective perspective. This I think is needed to help Aaron with his paranoia.

Moon in Pisces:  (estimated) This indicates security through accepting. This manifests itself through psychic abilities, religiosity and prophetically. This is the most acute emotional sensitivity. This indicates a healer, a poet, a mystic. She needs a vision for a better life or she will be lost to fantasy. She will be a healer or a victim; selfless or weak willed and easily exploited. This however is her least emphasized trait.

Mercury in Libra:  Manifested through her father’s or sometimes a mother’s influence/character and manifested domestically. It’s hard for her to know how she actually feels on any given issue. Venus in Scorpio:  Speaks of the strength of The Power of Love. This planet is in detriment … she must find harmony through conflict. She is seeking security and is faithful - though this can border on possessive. This will be manifested through her children or romantic relationships. Losing Charlie might shake her faith in Love. This will be pronounced in her character and works in conjunct with the traits of the Sun and Jupiter.

Mars in Sagittarius:  Defender of the Faith. Manifested through methods used to channel her raw untamed energy. She needs to focus herself on a large goal - that of Aaron’s destiny. This is pronounced and in conjunction with the traits of Uranus, and Neptune.

Jupiter in Scorpio:  Growing through desiring as manifested through her children and romantic relationships. This heavily speaks of the occult and mysterious. She will find deep joy through deep sorrow. She will meet fateful challenges and help others through deep and dark places.

Saturn in Libra:  This planet is exalted, it will be easy for her to see that her Duty is to Love - she will be tested in relating. She needs to learn to love through balance.
