Jill Bolte Taylor: My Stroke of Insight

This TED talk aby Jill Bolte Taylor may be the best one I've seen.  Taylor is a brain scientist who suffered a massive stroke to the left hemisphere--the hemisphere which is responsible for our sense of temporality, of language, and of self.  Taylor finds this experience a way to gain insight into a side of ourselves of which we are usually not very aware--the side that lives in the present, feels unlimited by the confines of the body (I think she describes the experience as being more like energy than like a body--and feeling much larger and more present), and at peace.  And from there to think about what getting more in touch with that side might mean for all of us.

Here's the TED Video.
