Science
I didn't know there was one until I read this article, but it seems part of the general trend of taking back technologies from specialists. This particular piece is about a 23 year old who is doing genetic testing on herself to see if she has inherited a blood disorder which her father has. I love the title for the accompanying video: "The closet geneticist."

"The closet geneticist."
HA HA HA Awesome.
Interestingly enough I came across a study that compares home phototherapy treatment for psoriasis to outpatient treatment. Home treatment was found to be as effective, but more satisfying for the patient.
Home Phototherapy as Safe, Effective as Outpatient Therapy for Treating

Ultraviolet B phototherapy administered at home for the treatment of
psoriasis is equally safe and effective as ultraviolet B phototherapy
administered in an outpatient setting, according to the results of a
randomized controlled noninferiority trial reported in the May 8 issue of the
BMJ.
